While these environments offer remarkable benefits like increased autonomy and a diverse workforce, they also present unique challenges, including potential feelings of isolation and difficulties maintaining workplace cohesion. Your Speaker

Lauren Hotchkiss is an industrial-organizational psychology professional and workplace wellness speaker specializing in employee well-being, meaningful work, and psychologically healthy workplaces. With expertise in digital-first and remote work environments, she helps organizations create engaging learning experiences that translate into real behavior change.
Lauren completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and her Master of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology at the University of Guelph. She is also a Certified Training and Development Professional and a Psychological Health and Safety Advisor through the Canadian Mental Health Association. Lauren has delivered training for audiences ranging from individual contributors to senior executives and is especially skilled at designing inclusive, highly engaging virtual learning environments. As a remote worker herself, she understands the realities of digital-first workplaces and brings practical, relevant insight to sessions designed for distributed teams. Her work has included serving as Chair of the Health and Education Committee for Mind the Bar Foundation and as a Culture Audit Evaluator for Great Place to Work’s annual Best Workplaces in Canada list. Her research and practice focus on how psychology can be applied to modern work environments, including how digitally mediated roles can become more meaningful and how virtual diversity training can drive stronger behaviour change. Lauren works from her home office in Vernon, BC, on the ancestral territory of the Syilx people, where she practices her own work-life balance by spending as much time as possible in the mountains and at the lake.
