Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Alex Auerbach is a sport and performance psychologist who has worked with elite performers across the NBA, NFL, and NCAA Division I athletics. Drawing on executive-level experience in professional sport, he helps organizations understand high performance, resilience, and the psychological foundations of sustainable success.
Dr. Auerbach earned his doctoral degree in counseling psychology with a specialization in sport and performance psychology from the University of North Texas. He also holds an MBA from Salve Regina University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona, giving him a distinctive blend of psychological and organizational insight. Most recently, he served as Senior Director of Wellness and Development for the Toronto Raptors, where he also held an executive role. Across nearly a decade of work in professional and collegiate sport, he has provided clinical care, performance consulting, and crisis intervention for athletes, coaches, medical staff, and sport administrators operating in high-pressure environments. Dr. Auerbach has shared his expertise through television appearances, podcasts, research publications, and national and international conference presentations. His sessions are especially relevant for organizations seeking to support high-performing teams in sustainable, human-centred ways, using lessons from elite sport to illuminate leadership, resilience, and performance in the workplace. When he is not working, he enjoys hiking, surfing, and spending time with his dog and family.
