Move from surviving to thriving

Thriving at work is strongly associated with higher job satisfaction, improved performance, decreased stress and burnout, and an increased ability to effectively respond to challenges. While the traditional approach to workplace wellbeing has largely focused on preventing problems, it is time to shift to a more positive approach.

Integrating elements of positive psychology, Mae’s talk discusses what both employees and employers can do to foster a culture of wellness, engagement, and purpose. Attendees will learn how to develop personal resources and resiliency (such as perspective-taking, self-compassion, and a growth mindset) to better manage wellbeing, cope with demands, and collectively contribute to a thriving workplace culture.

Mae Kroeis

Your Speaker

Mae Kroeis

Mae Kroeis is a public health professional, certified coach, and highly experienced facilitator with more than 20 years of expertise in workplace mental health, psychological health and safety, and resilience. She helps organizations create environments where people can perform well, feel supported, and thrive.

Mae holds a Master’s degree in Public Health with a specialization in Health Promotion from the University of Alberta, an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, and coaching credentials through the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching and the International Coach Federation. Mae has extensive experience in group facilitation, workshop design, implementation, knowledge translation, and community development across a wide variety of organizations, schools, municipalities, and community groups. Her background includes teaching Mental Health First Aid and The Working Mind, facilitating Alberta Health Services’ Community Helpers Program, and serving as an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training trainer since 2012. She has worked with organizations such as the City of Vancouver, energy companies, first responders, the Alberta Teachers Association, and Homewood Health. Her speaking helps organizations understand the link between well-being, resilience, and performance, while offering practical ways to create workplaces where people can do meaningful work and show up at their best. Mae lives with her husband and three children and enjoys spending as much time as possible in the mountains, parks, coffee shops, and with a great book.
