Dr. Sarah Lea is a distinguished physician, executive coach, and speaker specializing in resilience, burnout prevention, connection, and sustainable leadership. As a double-board-certified physician with senior healthcare leadership experience, she brings a rare blend of clinical credibility, coaching expertise, and lived insight to conversations about well-being at work.
Dr. Lea earned her Master of Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from Dalhousie University before completing her medical degree, and she is double-board-certified in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine. She is also a Certified Executive Coach through Royal Roads University, has additional training in cultivating resilience through the Leadership Wellness Group, and is a Certified Meditation Instructor. Dr. Lea balances clinical practice with leadership and coaching work. She works in addiction medicine at Victoria General and Royal Jubilee Hospitals in Victoria, British Columbia, has additional expertise in perinatal addictions, and serves as Medical Director for Medical Staff Onboarding, Education, and Leadership Development within Vancouver Island’s health authority. She is also a physician quality improvement coach for the Specialist Services Committee of BC and offers individual and group coaching through her company, She Thrives Coaching and Consulting. Her talks draw on both professional depth and personal insight, making her a powerful voice on burnout, resilience, connection, and the need to dismantle hustle culture. She has delivered a TEDx talk on the antidote to burnout, appeared in television interviews, and spoken at conferences, faculty retreats, and professional education events. Her perspective resonates strongly with leaders and teams seeking healthier, more sustainable ways to perform and lead.
